Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Processes binders, renewals and correspondence
  • Provides support to the Inspection Processing team by advising on discrepancies and recommendations on inspections.    Assists with the Inspection Review process when directed by the CL Service Supervisor.
  • Gathers and organizes specified information and reports to assist in the underwriting decision
  • Services all accounts, including resolving clients' inquiries, complaints, requests, and policy processing activities within guidelines
  • Responsible for quality and timely processing, and file maintenance
  • Sends out applications for underwriters for new and renewal business
  • Quotes renewals as directed by the Underwriter
  • Performs applicable procedures to ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory standards and out of state filings, including Surplus lines forms for carriers
  • Performs additional functions as needed as directed by the underwriter
  • Confers with underwriter on forms, rates and areas as needed
  • Backup for other assistants when out of the office
  • Monitors underwriter’s emails when the underwriter is out of the office

Qualification/Requirements:

  • Minimum 1-2+ years of technical insurance experience
  • Multi-line rating expertise (or ability to develop multi-line expertise)
  • Knowledge of Middle Market underwriting classes, forms, procedures, regulations, coverages and business processes for assigned territory
  • Demonstrated skills and authority to process endorsements
  • Analytical skills to identify, gather and organize information and provide recommendation
  • Customer focused attitude and customer service skills to resolve inquiries quickly and effectively
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated initiative to complete assignments and obtain results
  • Ability to work in a team environment to support overall profitability initiatives for assigned territory
  • Solid organizational skills including: time-management, prioritization and attention to detail
  • Skills to operate computer equipment, use commercial system applications and vendor software
  • Basic math skills
